My Oscar Shoes...I Think...
We are less than a week away from the big night and besides covering events, I am busy trying to help coordinate my overall look for Sunday with my stylist, Roni B. I think I have my shoes. I say "think" because my dress is long and the heels need to be high...sky high. I really love the pair that I have, but we may have to go in another direction if I need more height.
After I mentioned that I finally had shoes for the Oscars, I received this tweet from one of my followers, Ronnie:
I responded with, "Height, comfort, fashion. In that order."
I wish it were easy to just select any old random shoe, but this year, my shoes count. I am showing a lot of leg in my dress and you are going to see my shoes. However, I've always worn broken-in shoes to the big day and this year, I am wearing brand new shoes with a little trepidation. I don't want blisters! I know my feet will hurt after a long day, but blisters are the worst.
I will be in those shoes from 10am PT until I can slip them off my feet when I am backstage in the press room. So, wish me well and tell the shoe gods to be good to me.
I also have to say that it was the first pair of shoes I have bought in a store in ages. I am a huge online shopper, so it was unusual to be in a mall on a Monday night trying on shoes. As a part of the #MySmarterCommerce campaign with IBM, I felt a little old school being in a store instead of behind a keyboard for that purchase.
Let's take a sneak peek at my shoes for Sunday. May I present...Stuart Weitzman's Gloso shoe. While I would like to call these an "investment shoe," I will say I bought my first pair of Weitzman's in 2007 and I haven't regretted a second of that purchase. While they are not a shoe I wear every day, they have served me well on the red carpet. In fact, you can see the shoe here and here. I am not showing you the dress until Sunday, but there is a little glimpse of the dress in yesterday's post if you are curious.
So, what do you think of the shoes? Give me your honest opinion in the comments below.

This Week In Instagram
Pouting with AJ Gibson after Brandon and Amber were dismissed from SYTYCD last night. See our recap show here.
I'm a little obsessed these days with Instagram: taking photos, choosing the right filter, and commenting on others photos. It's more fun than Facebook and it's a great Twitter companion. Here are some of my fun photos this week.

Sanuk Footwear Party
On Wednesday I was invited to view the Sanuk Footwear spring line at Bellacures in Beverly Hills. It was a night that involved champagne, manis, pedis, a candy bar, and shoes. Okay, count me in! I became familiar with the Sanuk line when I was gifted a pair of shoes at the Blushington party I attended in February. The brand was created by a Southern California native who uses innovative materials to create the line from yoga mats to indoor/outdoor carpet. I love them for their fun designs and comfort in a casual shoe and now that I am the proud owner of three pairs, you will be sure to see them on feet this summer in LA. To learn more about their spring line, click here.
I would like to thank BWPR for inviting me to the blogger event. I was not paid for this post, but I was gifted with two pairs of shoes and a mani/pedi at the event.

Shopping in New York
As you know from my previous trips here and here, NYC is my home. I can't get enough of the sounds, the smells, the food, the theatre, and the shopping! It took me only 32 minutes to make a dent in my wallet with a ring, pendant, and earring purchase, followed by my coveted Jessica Simpson shoe splurge.
I wasn't planning on buying any jewelry, but I stumbled into the place on my way out of my favorite NYC sandwich joint, CosÃ. It's called Secret of Treasures (488 7th Ave, New York 10018) and everything is approximately $2.99 and under, so it's a costume jewelry fan's dream. I scooped up a Murano glass ring.
Finally, you know I have been coveting these shoes from Jessica Simpson. The girl may be a mediocre singer and actress, but she has a billion dollar fashion empire. Yes, I said BILLION. These are the Dany shoes that department stores and online sites cannot keep in stock. It is a huge 5" heel with a 2" platform heel, but they are comfortable and easy to walk in. I wish it was warm in NYC right now so I could sport them to the theatre tonight. I think I have finished with my shopping here in the city, but I still have another 12 days to go.........wish me luck!

How can you resist? This colorful pile of Murano glass pendants was so enticing. I only picked up one, but I could have sorted through the pile for days. I also grabbed a pair of earrings bringing my shopping total to $9.77 for three pieces of jewelry. Now, that's what I call a bargain!
